My first day at Anoka Ramsey Community College
Even though fall semester had started, it was a relief to find the online "Media Writing" course at ARCC. I had to register for the single course as if I were a brand new college student. This came as a surprise because I’ve been at Normandale Community College (NCC) two years. Still, I got a nice welcome when I drove up to the quiet Coon Rapids campus to purchase a used textbook, quite the find at the time.

I'm glad that you got into this class. It may seem like a silly question, but what school is NCC?
ReplyDeleteI'm also glad that you got a nice welcome at the Coon Rapids Campus.
Yes I'm also curious to what school NCC is. Do you enjoy this online class? That's good you got a nice welcome.
ReplyDeleteUsed textbooks at the Coon Rapids campus sold fast. There were only four left when I bought mine, and the next day there were none. I'm glad you got one, and that you got a nice welcome along with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Ashley & Laura--
ReplyDeleteThanks to your question, I changed the acronym to Normandale Community College. Incidentally, I hesitated to use NCC to begin with because I was concerned that not every classmate would know which school it stood for. Plus, I was trying to save words, ha!! So, I learned a valuable lesson today thanks to your helpful comments.

Hi Hannah--
ReplyDeleteAt the time of purchase Aug. 28, little did I know that Reporting for the Media (ninth edition) was a rare commodity. So, I was fortunate to find one.
Incidentally, before that, both ARCC Bookstore Web sites reported NO available textbooks. Still, I called Coon Rapids & Cambridge directly and found out each store had JOUR 2121 textbooks in stock anyway.
Again, this proves that it often pays to NOT accept "no" for an answer!
